The filmmaker once lived and worked in a Soviet-era prefab apartment building; now, together with five other visual artists, he explores what life was like there then and what it is like today. He captures the aesthetics of these prefab buildings through original watercolors, which come to life thanks to digital animation and stop-motion techniques. The film thus conceives modern architecture as a setting for utopian fantasies, but also for crises both past and recent.
