How did a group of young Dutch people with no prior experience in similar projects manage—with the help of a few outside experts—to design, finance, and ultimately build a collective apartment building? A film shot by one of the community members depicts the complex process, complete with a series of tense situations that not everyone can handle. The result is Amsterdam’s first self-built housing cooperative and a home for 36 households.
