The town of Almere, near Amsterdam, is a symbol of a dull satellite area for many Dutchmen. But the qualities of this model development from the 1970’ have been appreciated by Chinese urban planners. So, they decided to build a perfect copy of it in a completely different climate. The cultural split is on the one hand a slightly absurd satire, on the other a valuable reflection on our strict perception of originality.
