A sensitive cinematic excursion around the buildings of Balkrishna Doshi, Pritzker Prize winner and a prominent figure not only in sustainable architecture, who unjustly remains in the shadow of his better-known collaborators, especially Le Corbusier. Doshi had been a lifelong advocate of the use of local materials and energy-efficient buildings, something that previously only young architects were able to do. The documentary captures the aging yet energetic architect as he tours his own projects, meets those closest to him and reflects on his career. The filmmakers managed to capture unique footage before Doshi’s death. He died just a few months before the premiere of the film, which thus functions as a memorial and reminder of his pivotal role in the field of architecture.
Prague: The projection will be presented by the architect and architectural historian Petr Klíma.
