Welcome to Villages, the largest retirement community in America. In the sun-lit and perfectly kept paradise on 82 km2 there are more than 150 residents aged 55+. 96 recreation centres, 54 golf courses, 70 pools and nearly 3000 social clubs have been built at the expense of the surrounding land and precious water. The fence and conservative Fox News, the only communication channel, represent a voluntary isolation from the imperfections of world and the retirees experience their American dream at last. The often-surreal senior citizen life in the apparently pleasant atmosphere of Florida might not be as idyllic and friendly as it might seem at first.
