Stone of Destiny

A stone that sings, wanders, and doubts. Julie Černá’s lyrical animated musical had its world premiere at the Berlinale Film Festival. It tells the story of the Stone of Destiny, who leaves the known world in search of meaning and freedom. Along the way, it encounters strange creatures and mysterious situations that mirror the author’s inner journey. In an attempt to find meaning in its existence, it settles in a modern villa on the coast, but despite its best efforts, it finds no peace. A poetic metaphor of loneliness, relationships, and the desire to be understood.
