In the immense Chinese city of Chonging, the last old quarter is about to disappear. Will the people cope with the change?
In the third largest and most populated Chinese city of Chonging (50 mil. inhabitants), only one of the old quarters remained. The director spent a couple of months in the area to capture the everyday life of the bizarre stage in the middle of the progressive centre destined to disappear. At first, the people refuse to be filmed, are suspicious and do not understand why he does not record the more positive images of the dynamically developing city.
