An entertaining quirky film documenting the complicated process of moving artworks from the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam to a new art warehouse designed by MVRDV. Director Sonia Herman Dolz uses unique archive material from 1935 to compare the original museum space with its pre-refurbishment state. The renovation included the creation of an art warehouse fully accessible to the public, which displays the adjacent museum building thanks with its mirror surface. The main protagonists are the architect Winy Maas and the museum’s director at the time, Sjarel Ex, whose special dynamics add an unprecedented dimension to the movie.
Prague: After the screening, there will be a discussion with director Sonia Herman Dolz.
