Throughout the second half of the 20th century, Sri Lankan architect Geo rey Bawa designed architecture that was fundamentally tied to nature. His buildings create spaces that compel visitors to explore and appreciate their surroundings. His work has sometimes been referred to as elitist, yet his influence can be seen in the consolidation of local traditions that have faced the changes of a globalizing world. The unusual film format, composed of ambient shots, combines the mysterious atmosphere of the houses with the explorations of the protagonist.
